In recent early childhood art education endeavors, students have delved into the realm of movement within painting to enhance their fine motor skills and witness the dynamic effects of color in motion.

Three states of matter
物质的三种状态
Science is a lot of fun when students have an opportunity to learn through exploration. Over the past couple of weeks, students in grade 3 have become chemists as they learned about the three states of matter: solids, liquids, and gasses, and the difference between solutions and mixtures.
当学生有机会探索学习时,科学就会充满乐趣。在过去的几周里,三年级的学生们变身小化学家,了解了物质的三种状态:固体、液体和气体,以及溶液和混合物之间的区别。

Mysteric Oobleck
神奇物质欧不裂
One activity involved a type of matter, Oobleck, which is msomewhat of a mystery. Oobleck, taken from the Dr. Suess book, Bartholomew and the Oobleck, is a nonnewtonian fluid. When pressure is placed upon it, it acts as a solid. As soon as pressure is released, it becomes a liquid. Students watched a video called, “Walking on Oobleck.” Then, using cornstarch and water, they had the opportunity to make their own Oobleck. Students had fun playing with and investigating this interesting matter.
其中一项活动涉及到一种神奇的物质“欧不裂”。欧不裂,取自苏斯博士的书《巴塞洛缪和欧不裂》,是一种非牛顿流体。当对其施加压力时,它就像固体一样。一旦释放压力,它就变成液体。学生们观看了“在欧不裂上行走”的视频,然后用玉米淀粉和水制作自己的欧不裂,学生开心地体验并探究了非牛顿流体的神奇特性。

Mixtures and Solutions

Another activity involved identifying mixtures and solutions. Students worked in groups answering the question, “Which items, when mixed with water, will form a mixture? Which will form a substance?” Students were given a pitcher of water and 7 cups which were filled with different substances After mixing each with water, they collected data though observation and made a decision as to whether each resulted in a mixture or a substance.
另一项活动是区分混合物和溶液。学生们分组回答以下问题:哪些物质与水混合时会形成混合物? 哪个会形成溶液?学生们以一壶水和里面装满了不同的物质的7个杯子为实验材料进行了探索。学生将每种物质与水混合后,通过观察收集数据并得出结论,进而确定这些物质是否可以形成混合物或溶液。

Grade 6 Be students recently embarked on an immersive exploration of Islam and the Islamic Caliphates, underlining the dynamic nature of history education. Beginning with Islam's birth on the Arabian Peninsula, students traced its spread and the profound impact it had on cultural, social, and political landscapes. They delved into the pivotal roles of the first four caliphs in the Rashidun Caliphate, the expansion under the Umayyad dynasty, and the golden age of the Abbasid Caliphate.
G6 Be学生最近完全沉浸在了对伊斯兰教和伊斯兰哈里发王朝的探索中。孩子们在历史的长河中,切身感受到了历史的流动性。从伊斯兰教在阿拉伯半岛的诞生开始,学生们追溯了伊斯兰教的传播及其对文化、社会和政治格局的深远影响,深入了解了拉希敦哈里发王朝前四位哈里发的重要作用、倭马亚王朝的扩张以及阿拔斯哈里发王朝的黄金时代。

To deepen comprehension, students undertook research projects culminating in presentations. This process unfolded through distinct stages: role assignments, research, design, collaboration, and presentation rehearsal. Students embraced ownership and accountability, recognizing the value of teamwork and communication.
为了加深对学习内容的理解,同学们开展了小组研究项目,并进行了课堂展示。小组研究项目的过程包括:角色分配、史实研究、设计项目、团队合作和项目排练。学生积极地参与了研究项目,发挥学习主动性,认识到了团队合作和沟通的价值。
Research teams scoured historical texts and scholarly articles, while designers crafted visually engaging presentations. Collaboration was key as teams synthesized findings, resolving conflicts, and leveraging strengths to create cohesive presentations.
在团队合作中,负责史实研究的同学参考了大量的历史文献和学术文章,而负责设计的同学则精心制作了引人入胜的PPT。协作,是本次小组合作项目的主旋律,各小组在共同努力下,弥合分歧,发挥优势,最终呈现了高质量的小组展示。





As Presentation Day neared, focus shifted to final preparations, refining delivery, and addressing last-minute adjustments. Through this project, students not only enriched their understanding of Islamic history but also honed their critical academic skills.
随着小组展示的日子越来越近,同学们的准备工作也进入了收尾阶段。他们不断地完善演讲内容,并对小组展示做了最后的调整。通过本次小组展示活动,学生们不仅加深了对伊斯兰历史的理解,还磨练了关键的学术技能。

In the third month of the spring season, with grass growing and birds chirping, an extraordinary event unfolded in the G8 Chinese class this week—a spring poetry gathering.
孟春三月,草长莺飞,这周八年级的中文课堂上正掀起一场别开生面的孟春诗会。

This semester, as part of extracurricular activities, students engaged in independent explorations of classical poetry in small groups within their classes. Teachers presented exploration topics and peer evaluation criteria to the students, providing targeted guidance along the way, with the hope that students would present their best work. On Thursday and Friday, students transformed into junior instructors, sharing their carefully crafted "key questions" with their classmates. In these tranquil classroom moments, the air was filled with the sound of contemplation as students delved deeper into their understanding of poetry.
本学期,我们在课外古诗诵读方面进行了分组自主探究。老师们呈现了探究内容和互评标准给学生,并有针对性地逐一指导,期望同学们能够呈现出最佳的内容。而在周四和周五的课堂上,他们则化身为小老师,将自己精心设计的“核心问题”分享给同学们。在这静谧的课堂中,弥漫着思考的氛围,学生们对诗歌有了更深层次的理解。

In a bid to equip parents with essential tools to guide their high schoolers through the testing season, a parent presentation entitled "Helping High School Students End the School Year Strong" was led on March 15th by our Vice Head of High School, Ms. Jennifer Gunter, and our High School Dean of Students, Ms. Joscelyn Benitez. The event proved to be an invaluable resource for families seeking to support their teenagers during this crucial period.
为了帮助家长更好地陪伴高中的孩子度过考试季,高中部副主任Ms. Jennifer Gunter和高中学生督导Ms. Joscelyn Benitez于3月15日以“助力高中考试季”为主题举办了一场信息分享会,分享了家长在这关键时期为孩子提供支持的有效方法。
With a focus on the current high school testing season, including Advanced Placement exams, the presentation offered insights into how parents could play a pivotal role in alleviating stress and fostering success. Recognizing the immense pressure students face during this time, the presenters emphasized the importance of parental support in creating a conducive environment for academic achievement. Parents were provided with practical strategies to identify signs of stress and anxiety in their teens, enabling them to intervene effectively and offer much-needed support when needed.
本次分享会聚焦于近期的高中考试,向家长介绍了他们如何帮助学生减轻学习压力,完成学习目标。鉴于目前同学们学习压力较大,主讲人强调了家长的支持对于营造高效学习环境的重要意义,并为家长提供了具体的措施,以帮助他们了解孩子的学习状态,从而及时沟通,并在必要时提供支持。

Moreover, the presentation delved into mindfulness and healthy techniques as essential tools for managing stress as well as the importance of adopting healthy study strategies. Parents were introduced to techniques that promote effective learning and retention of information while minimizing stress. By incorporating these strategies into their study routines, students are better equipped to tackle exams with confidence and achieve academic success. Attendees left the presentation armed with actionable steps to support their high schoolers through the testing season. Our high school leadership team will continue to offer parent presentations to help parents guide their children through their teenage years.
随后,本次分享会还讨论了压力管理的理论和技巧,也强调了合理采用健康学习策略的重要性。通过运用这些策略,学生们可以更从容地应对考试,完成学习目标。在本次分享会上,家长们学习了陪伴孩子健康成长的具体方法,了解了如何在尽量减少学习压力的情况下帮助孩子更好地学习。高中部今后将举办更多的活动,以帮助高中家长更好地陪伴孩子度过青春期。

The U15 volleyball season was a fun season to watch. The boys and girls teams played well in all of their games.
本季度的U15排球赛精彩不断,我校男排和女排队伍在赛场上都很好地展示了风采。

The boys’ games were all very close and would all be decided by no more than 5 points. With their joint efforts, the boys ended up being the runner-up this season. This team has a lot to look forward to as they go into the BIBS-CAL Shenzhen Tournament next weekend.
男排比赛一直势均力敌,最终比分差距都不超过5分。在大家的共同努力下,男排在本季度最终取得了亚军的成绩,并有望在接下来的中国·贝赛思国际/双语学校体育联盟联赛中再接再厉。




Girls' Game
女子排球赛
The girls team saw some ups and downs. The girls dominated the first matchup that they had. The second match was different and, in the end, they were defeated. The girls did not let this defeat get them down though. They worked hard in practice and mentally got themselves ready for the championship matchup. The girls started out up 2 sets to 0. They allowed the other team to come back and tie it with 2 sets a piece. The girls continued to work hard and they went on to win the championship in the 5th set.
女排在本赛季中状态有所起伏。在拿下了第一场比赛后,女排在第二场比赛中失利,输掉了比赛。但大家并没有因此而气馁,而是调整心态,努力训练,积极迎战决赛。在决赛中,女排先以2比0领先,但被对手扳回两局,战成2比2平。在激烈的交锋中,女排最终拿下决胜局,以3比2拿下本赛季冠军。




We are proud of our U15 volleyball teams and can not wait to see these students play in the Shenzhen tournament. Go Fighting Pandas!
