世界史课程简介

在众多的高中科目中，世界历史是一门很受欢迎的大学先修课程。作为通识教育项目的一部分，许多海外大学都有学习历史的要求。学习世界史，不仅可以了解整个人类社会的发展规律，吸收和借鉴外国的优秀成就，而且可以培养学生的全球化视野，树立“面向世界”的观念。

The World History course engages students with major historical events and concepts. The course is designed to be dynamic, interactive and fun. Topics covered will span the entirety of human history, beginning with the agricultural revolution up to the contemporary world.  Students are expected to take an active role in their learning by contributing to discussions, preparing presentations, and creating projects.

The goal of the course is to allow students to build a “global perspective” and gain awareness of how human societies develop and interact with each other. This is not merely a study of past events, but a study of how human beings conceptualize reality and act in the world. The major themes used to study history are:

Cultural Heritage and Diffusion

Science and Technology

Human – Environmental InteractionStudents will be challenged with complex concepts that shape human civilizations. However, these concepts are taught in an age-appropriate way that are made relatable and easy to digest.  World history course prepares students for their adult life by providing them with contextual knowledge and the ability to confidently engage with an ever-globalizing world.
