This epitomizes the economics classes of the witty and dapper Professor Li Xin. He does not merely impart theoretical knowledge but also shepherds us to ponder the profound underpinnings of economic phenomena. His classroom is invariably a hub of spirited debates, with every student encouraged to articulate their perspectives.

He imparts not just knowledge but also ignites my curiosity and thirst for understanding.

这是一个平凡的周五清晨，在升学导师Anna的提醒下，我打开邮箱，也是在这个宁静的清晨，我深刻体会到了“梦想成真”这四个字背后的力量和喜悦。波士顿大学的录取通知书像一束温暖的阳光，驱散了我这段时间的焦虑和不安，为我的努力画上了圆满的句号。
On an ordinary Friday morning, prompted by my college advisor Anna, I opened my email. It was in this serene dawn that I profoundly experienced the power and joy encapsulated in the phrase "dreams come true." The acceptance letter from Boston University shone like a warm ray of sunlight, dispelling the anxiety and unease I had felt recently, and placing a fulfilling period on my efforts.

My fondness for Boston University stems not only from its distinguished reputation in economics but also from the unique allure of the city of Boston itself. Boston University, with its profound academic heritage and advanced educational philosophy, holds an esteemed position in the field of economics. Simultaneously, as a vibrant metropolis, Boston, with its rich culture and extensive history, offers students an ideal environment for broadening their horizons and deepening their learning.

公办学校转到国际学校，我也曾经历过至暗时刻——外教纯英文课堂很不适应。作为非英语母语的学生，我意识到自己需要在听、说、读、写各方面都需要下更大的功夫。我开始积极参加英语辩论和演讲，以此提高我的口语和听力。同时，我通过大量阅读和写作练习来强化语言能力，不断地向老师和同学们求助，以更好地理解和运用英语。这一路上的挑战，让我学会了坚持和努力，也让我明白了克服困难的重要性。
Transitioning from a public school to an international school, I too faced my darkest moments — struggling to adapt to the purely English-spoken classes conducted by foreign teachers. As a non-native English speaker, I realized the need for intensified efforts in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. I began actively participating in English debates and speeches to enhance my spoken English and listening skills. Concurrently, I fortified my language proficiency through extensive reading and writing exercises, constantly seeking assistance from teachers and peers to better understand and use English. The challenges along this journey taught me the value of perseverance and effort, and the importance of overcoming difficulties.

我发现晨醒与睡前是背单词的好时候，记得快还记得牢，所以我会在每天这两个时段打开百词斩巩固单次，一天25个，每天都在坚持，每天都在积累，久而久之，我的标化上去了。

I discovered that early morning and before bedtime were ideal times for memorizing vocabulary — the words are learned quickly and retained well. Thus, I made it a routine to open Baicizhan, a vocabulary learning app, during these two periods each day, committing to 25 new words daily. With consistent effort and accumulation over time, my standardized test scores improved significantly.

在追求卓越的道路上，首先要做的，是接受自己目前的平凡。承认自己的不足不是一种失败，而是成长的起点。“笨鸟先飞”，我坚信只要勤奋努力，就能弥补自己的短板。在英语学习遇到瓶颈时，我选择了骑行作为一种释放和自我挑战的方式。
On the journey to excellence, the first step is to accept one's current ordinariness. Acknowledging one's shortcomings is not a failure, but rather the starting point of growth. Embracing the adage "the early bird catches the worm," I firmly believe that diligence and effort can compensate for my weaknesses. When encountering obstacles in learning English, I turned to cycling as a means of release and self-challenge.

一开始，我只能骑行15公里，但我没有停下脚步，而是不断挑战自己的极限。随着时间的推移，我能够完成长达80公里的骑行。这个过程中的疲惫和汗水，不仅是对身体的锻炼，也是对意志的磨练。骑行让我明白了努力与坚持的价值，这与学习英语有着异曲同工之妙。
Initially, I could only cycle 15 kilometers, but I did not halt my efforts; instead, I continually challenged my limits. Over time, I managed to complete rides as long as 80 kilometers. The fatigue and sweat during this process served not only as a physical workout but also as a test of willpower. Cycling taught me the value of effort and persistence, paralleling the experience of learning English in a unique yet analogous way.

在骑行和英语学习的过程中，我学会了如何面对困难，如何在逆境中找到前进的动力。每一次的挑战和努力，都让我更接近我的目标，也让我变得更加坚强和自信。我相信，通过不懈的努力，我能够突破语言的障碍，达到我所追求的高度。
Throughout the journey of cycling and learning English, I learned how to confront challenges and find motivation amidst adversity. 山不向我走来，我便向山走去

就像我们周围的同学一样，我也踏上了追求理想大学的旅程。首先，我明确了自己的目标，并在众多学校中寻找最匹配的那一所；接下来是递交资料的环节，我仔细整理了每一份文档，确保无一遗漏；准备文书是一个展现自我风采的关键步骤，我在其中倾注了自己的个性和梦想。
Like my peers, I embarked on the journey to pursue my ideal university. First, I clarified my objectives and sought the most fitting institution among many schools. Next, during the document submission phase, I meticulously organized each piece of paperwork, ensuring nothing was overlooked. Preparing the personal statement was a critical step to showcase my individuality and aspirations, into which I poured my personality and dreams.

在2022年的夏天，我在母亲的全力支持下，做出了一个重要决定——前往四川甘孜地区进行扶贫工作。这个决定不仅是一次社会实践，更是一次心灵的旅程。我深入了解了甘孜地区的风土人情，研究当地居民的收入状况，亲身体验了边远山区居民的生活方式，感受到了他们与众不同的幸福指数。
In the summer of 2022, with my mother's full support, I made a significant decision—to engage in poverty alleviation work in the Garzê Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan. This decision was not only a form of social practice but also a journey for the soul. I delved into the local customs and culture of Garzê, studied the income status of the residents, experienced firsthand the lifestyle of people in remote mountainous areas, and felt their unique sense of happiness.

在研究当地居民的收入和生活方式时，我开始思考经济发展与社区福祉之间的复杂关系。我意识到，经济学不仅仅是关于数字和图表，更关乎人的福祉和社会的进步。这种认识使我在后来的经济学学习中，更加注重理论与实际情况的结合，更加关心经济政策对普通人生活的影响。
While studying the income and lifestyle of local residents, I began to ponder the intricate relationship between economic development and community welfare. I realized that economics is not just about numbers and charts; it's fundamentally about human well-being and societal progress. This understanding led me to focus more on the integration of theory and real-world situations in my later studies of economics, and to pay closer attention to the impact of economic policies on the lives of ordinary people.

此外，见证甘孜地区居民在有限的资源下追求幸福的生活态度，也启发了我对经济学中“幸福指数”这一概念的深入思考。我开始理解到，经济发展的最终目的是提高人们的生活质量，而不仅仅是数字上的增长。

Furthermore, witnessing the pursuit of happiness by the residents of Garzê Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, despite their limited resources, inspired me to deeply contemplate the concept of the "Happiness Index" in economics. I began to understand that the ultimate goal of economic development is to enhance the quality of life, rather than just achieving numerical growth.
