毕业于英国杜伦大学,主修小学教育及商业管理专业,拥有18年中国国际/双语学校及教育机构工作经验、10年校长管理经验。他对如何领导和加强融合英国、国际和中国文化的项目和团队有独特的理解。Phil同时兼任英国西南商会副会长。

John

毕业于英国斯特拉克莱德大学,英国执教5年。除了课堂教学,他不仅开发了写作和心算课程,还主管艺术和音乐的课外活动。他努力创造积极高效的工作环境,鼓励孩子们独立、自信、富有创造力。

Helen拥有6年以上的国际学校教学经验,主要经验包括教授2至9年级英语为非母语学生的英语课程和对科目课程的语言支持,并教授7至11年级学生IB中文课程。她拥有英国纽卡斯尔大学硕士学位,是一位积极主动、充满热情的教师深知学生学习第二语言时所面临的困境,并能根据个体情况提供及时的帮助。

五年级班主任

Wayne毕业于英国莱斯特大学,获得教育学学士位、英国国家教学与领导学院的教师认证。后又获得东安格利亚大学教育硕士学位以及伯明翰大学的TESOL资格。拥有31年小学教育经验和丰富的课堂教学、阶段性领导、部门主管和校长的经验,并且在与EAL儿童的合作方面有非常强的背景。他热衷于培养学生的成长心态,让他们取得比想象中更多的成就。

Jeanne拥有英国伯明翰大学硕士学位,主修应用语言学与英语教学,同时拥有中国教师资格证、剑桥大学考试委员会英语教学能力证书。曾任教于国际学校及公立学校,有8年的教学经验。她擅长与儿童交流,致力于创造舒适、以学生为中心和民主的课堂。她深信每位学生都是独特的,只要找到适合自己的学习方法,人人都可以成功。

Liping老师从事语文教学和班主任工作已经7年有余,在国内公立学校任教期间,在各类教学比赛中多次获得多项荣誉。后曾赴美国公立学校担任中文沉浸式项目的教学工作。此后在国际学校中任教。她拥有非常丰富的教学经验,在教学中因材施教,实施差异化教学,倡导成长型思维。

Florence毕业于重庆大学汉语国际教育专业。超过10年中文教学经验,曾在意大利、重庆、成都等地的国际学校和私立学校任教。她致力于推广儿童阅读,在不同场合进行了多次儿童阅读讲座。在她的中文课上,孩子不仅能领略到中文语言的魅力,还能感受到中国文化的博大精深。

Wayne Clough

二年级班主任

Wayne毕业于英国朴茨茅斯大学,获得教育领导和管理硕士学位,拥有SACE证书(1-7年级的教学证书),已经在中国任教超过11年,教学经验十分丰富。他在备课时,会试图关注布卢姆分类法中的高阶思维能力,如“创造”、“探究”和“评论”,引导学生能够批判性地思考他们是谁以及他们周围的世界。

David Taylor

David获得了英国邓迪大学的国际教育硕士学位,并且拥有一流的学士学位,主修国际小学教育。他在中国任教9年,加入晟珀之前, David在成都的一所国际学校担任小学班主任。David相信所有的学生都有不同的学习方式,并努力使用各种教学方法来接触每个学生。他还认为,创造一个完全包容的课堂环境是非常重要的,让所有的学生都感到受到欢迎和尊重。

Sharri Holroyd

一年级班主任

Sharri有着丰富的教学经验,并拥有教育学硕士学位。她拥有从幼儿园到七年级的16年教学工作经验。她认为,对于所有的学生来讲,学习应该是有趣和有吸引力的。她喜欢把运动、歌曲与学生充分结合起来,并支持每一个学生充分发挥他们的潜力。

Amber在厦门大学取得硕士学位。拥有6年国际学校和1年国外教学经验,她的主要工作是教授IB PYP的中文课程。她深信学习的过程是让孩子有事可做,并从中引发思考,学习才能得以激励和产生。

毛老师拥有吉林大学汉语国际教育专业硕士学位 ,曾先后在韩国、美国、北京的多所知名国际学校担任语言教学及班级管理工作,同时拥有教授数学、社交情感课和IPC课程的经验。她对国际学校课程体系有自己独到的理解,尤其擅长与学生的沟通与管理,她希望能和每一个学生形成亦师亦友的良好关系。

Enda在利物浦约翰摩尔斯大学获得了PGCE证书。成长于爱尔兰双语环境下成长的经历,使他尤其擅长创造多语言学习环境,帮助学生达成语言学习目标。除了丰富的沉浸式教学经验,他还参与了多项早期教育的研究和培训工作,希望打造一个以学生为中心的教学环境,与家长保持沟通,共同促进学生的学术和个人发展。

Jennifer目前正在完成英国德比大学的教育学研究生课程,她拥有超过5年的班主任工作经验。曾在英国女童子军、圣约翰救护车和各种学校项目中工作,并参加过急救护理、食品安全和卫生、教师知识、安全保护、蒙特梭利等多种知识和技能的培训。她深信,教学不只是单向的流动,老师和学生之间有很多机会相互学习和相互探索。

Giordano先后获得意大利罗马大学分校文学、音乐和表演艺术学士、罗马大学拉萨皮恩扎分校欧洲文学硕士、伦敦金斯顿大学PGCE小学教育文凭。拥有7年教育工作经验,曾在英国教授英国国家课程,受过5-11岁的小学教师培训,偏重于KS2,擅长表演艺术和文学。并且他还会意大利语、葡萄牙语,具有舞台剧写作的背景。

Every child deserves the best possible chance in life and support them to fulfil their potential. Children develop quickly in their earlier years, experiences at Kindergarten and primary school are having a great impact on their future life. The role of teachers during this period is of great importance as they serve as guiding figures in shaping a child's life. Recognizing this significance, SPGSI Chengdu places immense emphasis on both the size and quality of its teaching team. We strictly adhere to rigorous selection and evaluation procedures in line with SPGS London. Each member of our teaching staff undergoes background checks, multiple rounds of interviews, including individual assessments for child safety. Only the most exceptional teachers are selected to join SPGSI Chengdu.

Phil

Head of Junior School. Phil graduated from Durham University in the United Kingdom, majoring in Primary Education and Business Management. Phil has 18 years of experience working in Chinese international/bilingual schools and educational institutions, as well as 10 years in school leadership and management. He has a unique understanding of how to lead and strengthen projects and teams blending UK, international, and Chinese cultures. Phil also serves as the Vice Chairman of British Chamber of Commerce.

John Devlin

John

John graduated from the University of Strathclyde and has five years of teaching experience in the UK. In addition to classroom teaching, he has developed writing and mental arithmetic programmes as well as leading after school clubs in art and music. John strives to create positive and effective working environments which encourage children to become independent, confident, and creative.

Luke Conniffe

Year 6 Homeroom Teacher

Luke holds a BA degree in English and German as well as a Masters of Education from Maynooth University. He has six years of teaching experience in Ireland  focusing on literacy and English as both a first and second language. This experience, as well as being a qualified German teacher has given him a keen understanding of the mechanics of language and how to convey this knowledge in a meaningful, impactful way. In the classroom, Luke strives to encourage autonomy and love of learning in his students. By discovering their interests and fostering their imagination, he creates a learning environment where students are motivated, inquisitive, and enthusiastic about their education.

Helen Yang

Head of Chinese & Year 6 Chinese Co-Teachers (Junior School) 

Helen is a qualified teacher with over 6 years of international school teaching experience. She has worked with EAL students from year 2 to year 9, as well as delivering IB MYP Chinese B to Year 7 to Year 11 students. Helen obtained a Master’s degree in England from Newcastle University. She is a motivated and passionate teacher that fully understands the difficulties faced when learning a second language, and the support structure the children will need on that journey.

Wayne Wildey

Head of Primary Pastoral Year 5 Homeroom Teacher

Wayne graduated from the University of Leicester (UK) in 1992 with a Bachelor of Education (Hons.) degree and gained Qualified Teacher Status from the UK’s National College for Teaching and Leadership in the same year. In 1999, he obtained a Masters in Education from the University of East Anglia (UK) and a TESOL qualification from the University of Birmingham (UK) shortly thereafter. He has thirty-one years of experience in Primary education. He has a wealth of experience as a classroom teacher, phase leader, head of department and school principal, and a very strong background in working with children with EAL. Wayne is passionate about nurturing a growth mindset in his students ensuring that they love learning, are ambitious, achieve more than they may have thought possible and have the skills and knowledge for a bright future.

Jeanne Ma

Year 5 Chinese Co-Teacher

Jeanne is a qualified teacher with over 8 years teaching experience in both international and traditional schools. She studied and obtained a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics and English Education from the University of Birmingham in England. She has teacher qualifications from the Education Bureau of China and Cambridge TKT. Jeanne is passionate about learning and teaching languages and cultures. She believes that all children are unique, and with the right passion and tools for learning, everyone can succeed. As a teacher, she always tries to provide a safe, learner-centered and democratic learning environment for children.

Sean-Paul Reilly

Head of Academics (Primary) Year 4 Homeroom Teacher

Sean - Paul holds a BA (Hons) in Ancient History and a PGCE qualification with QTS from the Institute of Education, University College London. He has six years of primary teaching experience in London and China. He believes in providing creative and inspiring lessons for children, cultivating a love of learning and promoting their natural sense of curiosity and wonder.

Liping

Liping Zeng

Year 4 Chinese Co-teacher

Liping has been teaching for more than seven years. During her teaching in Chinese public schools, she was awarded many honours for teaching competitions. She also taught in a Chinese immersion program in the U.S. Since then, she has continued her teaching in international schools. She is an experienced teacher and works with students according to their abilities and implements differentiated teaching approaches. She advocates a growth mindset. She has a lively and cheerful personality, and infectiously positive energy. 

Su-Marie

Su-Marie van Niekerk

Year 3 Homeroom Teacher

Su-Marie received a Bachelor’s degree in education and an honours degree in Learner Support from the University of North-West and is certified to teach Early Childhood, Primary, and Special Education. After university, she taught English for a year in South Korea and South Africa. This is her 13th year of teaching in primary schools.

Florence

Florence Chen

Year 3 Chinese Co-teacher

Florence graduated from Chongqing university and majored in International Chinese Education. She has more than 10 years of teaching experience and has taught in international schools and private schools in Italy, Chongqing and Chengdu. She is committed to promoting the importance of children’s reading development and has given many lectures on children’s literacy. In her Chinese classes, students can appreciate both the charm of Chinese language and better understand Chinese culture.

Wayne

Wayne Clough

Year 2 Homeroom Teacher

Wayne is a SACE-licensed teacher (licensed to teach grades 1-7) and has an MSc in Educational Leadership and Management from the University of Portsmouth. He is an experienced primary school teacher and has over 11 years of teaching experience in China. In Wayne’s lessons he encourages students to be inquisitive and creative and guides them to think critically about who they are and the world around them.

Kate

Kate Conniffe

Year 2 Homeroom Teacher

Kate is a fully qualified primary school teacher from the countryside of Ireland. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and History and a Masters of Education (Primary) from Maynooth University. Kate has spent many years working with children in schools and summer camps, both in Ireland and America. Her 4 years of experience  teaching English and Irish as both first and second languages has given her a keen understanding of how to best teach the mechanics of language. Kate believes in creating a classroom environment where children feel safe and motivated to explore, learn new things and develop their own interests. When not in the classroom Kate enjoys spending time outside and reading a good book. 

Kira

Kira Zheng

Year 2 Chinese Co-teacher

Kira holds a Master‘s degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages from Sichuan University. She has the teacher qualification from China with a specialization in Chinese. Kira has taught in both public elementary schools and international schools for 5 years. Having served as a class teacher for a long time, she understands the characteristics of both older and younger students. She bases her teaching on the knowledge of ontology and cares to stimulate students’ interest in learning through a variety of activities.

David

David Taylor 

Year 1 Homeroom Teacher

David has just completed his Master’s degree in International Education at Dundee University. He also holds a first-class BA degree, majoring in International Primary Education. He has spent 9 years teaching in China and most recently worked as a primary school homeroom teacher in an international school in Chengdu. David believes that all students learn differently and strives to use a variety of teaching approaches to reach each student. He also believes that it is important to create a fully inclusive classroom environment where all students feel welcome and respected.

Sharri

Sharri Holroyd

Year 1 Homeroom Teacher

Sharri is from the UK. She brings a wealth of teaching experience,  and holds an MA in Education. She has been teaching children for 16 years from kindergarten to year 7. Sharri believes learning should be fun and engaging for all learners. She enjoys incorporating movement, songs into her teaching approach, by doing so encouraging full interaction from her students. She supports all learners to reach their full potential.

Amber

Amber Tian

Year 1 Chinese Co-teacher

Amber is a qualified teacher with 6 years of experience working in international schools and onw a year of experience teaching abroad. She has worked with IB PYP Chinese A and Chinese B students. Amber studied and obtained a Master’s degree from Xiamen University. She believes that learners actively construct knowledge rather than passively take in information. She therefore strongly feels that giving children something to do, not to learn is essential for students to experience and reflect, build their own representations and incorporate new knowledge and idea.

Caroline

Caroline Zou

Chinese Co-teacher

Caroline holds a Master's degree in English Language Teaching from the University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom, and a Bachelor's degree in Literature from the College of International Affairs at Tianjin Foreign Studies University. She specialized in English language teaching during her studies. Caroline is also certified as a Senior High School English teacher in China. She has experience teaching English and working as a homeroom teacher at renowned educational institutions and international schools. She excels in tailoring her teaching approach to students with diverse cultural backgrounds and varying levels of proficiency.

 

Aizhen

Aizhen Mao

Chinese Co-teacher

Ms. Mao holds a Master's degree in Chinese International Education from Jilin University. She has previously worked as a language teacher and class manager at several renowned international schools in South Korea, the United States, and Beijing. Additionally, she has experience teaching mathematics, social-emotional courses, and the IPC curriculum. Ms. Mao possesses a unique understanding of the international school curriculum and excels in communication and student management. She strives to build a positive teacher-student relationship based on mutual respect and friendship.

Robert has over fifteen years of experience working with children. He has been working as a teacher and as a teacher training and academic manager in the UK, Shanghai and Chengdu. Robert has a strong passion for implementing inquiry-based learning and for ensuring that each child’s individualism is appreciated, supported, and celebrated.

Enda

Enda Smith

Reception Homeroom Teacher

Enda obtained his PGCE from the Liverpool John Moores University. He grew up in bilingual Ireland, this fueled his passion for creating a multilingual learning environment where students are able to study, and use their target language. Enda is experienced in delivering immersion learning. He also conducts research and training workshops in early Years Education. Enda aims to create a student - centered, individualised and all-inclusive learning environment. He believes that excellent communication and collaboration with parents is vital to the students’ ongoing academic and personal development. Enda is also skilled in Irish Dancing.

Yujia

Yujia Lang

Reception Chinese Co-teacher

Yujia gained her degree in Early Childhood Education at the University of Vermont, US. She has been teaching young children since 2016 and developed an in-depth understanding of early childhood educational philosophies and curricula including the Reggio Emilia Approach, International Early Years Curriculum and Integrated Inquiry Curriculum. Yujia tries to identify and bring together the best of these approaches in her teaching. Yujia believes children are mighty learners capable of most things. She also believes that education is not limited to the classroom and that teachers should not only teach but also be excellent role models for children. 

Hannah

Hannah Zhang

Reception Chinese Co-teacher

Hannah holds a Master’s degree from the University of York. After graduation, she devoted herself to her teaching career. Having 4 years teaching experience in both international and public schools in Shenzhen, she has a great passion for early childhood teaching. She believes every child is unique and special, and as an educator, she values each child’s strengths, interests and abilities and supports them to become curious, creative, empathetic, and responsible lifelong learners.

Jennifer

Jennifer Cass

Nursery Homeroom Teacher

Jennifer is currently finishing her Postgraduate in Education at the University of Derby. She has been working in Chengdu for the past 6 years; Before coming to Chengdu, she worked within Girlguiding UK, St.John’s Ambulance and a variety of school programs.

She believes that teaching is not just a one way flow; and hopes that the children can learn something from her and that she can learn something from them. 

 

Matthew

Matthew Bullock

Nursery Homeroom Teacher

Matthew Graduated in BSc (Hons) Psychology from the University of Liverpool and is also an Erasmus alumnus from the Universita Degli Studi di Padova in ltaly. He obtained his PGCE from the University of Derby. Matthew has nine years of teaching experience, specializing in early years and EYFS. Matthew focuses on creating an inviting class environment where children explore and learn through problem solving and creative activities, as well as developing empathy and kindness towards each other. He wants all children to approach each challenge independently and not be fearful of failure.

 

Yoga

Yoga Wang

Nursery Chinese Co-teacher

Yoga is a qualified teacher with over 8 years of teaching experience in an international school as a co-teacher, and she has taught kindergarten for four years. She graduated from Hangzhou Normal University with a Bachelor’s degree. She is a certified EAL teacher and also holds a teacher qualification from the Education Bureau of China. Yoga always tries to challenge herself to be a better educator in different age groups. She loves being with kids and doing a variety of activities and projects in her class. 

Ronwyn

 Ronwyn Bentham

Toddler Homeroom Teacher

Ronwyn graduated from the University of the Western Cape in South Africa with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Psychology and English Literature. She also completed postgraduate studies in English Literature and received an Honours degree. With four years of experience in preschool education, she excels in teaching English reading and writing, music and movement, sports, and drama. She believes that every child is unique and aims to create a safe learning environment where students can grow into confident individuals.

Grace

Grace Wang

Toddler Chinese Co-teacher

As a Chinese Co-teacher, Grace holds a BSc in preschool education from the China Women’s University and a Master of Education degree from the Flinders University in Australia. Grace worked in an international kindergarten in Beijing after graduating and has five years' experience as an Early Years teacher. She loves education and believes that "loving children" is the most important part of being a teacher. Her gentleness and patience gives children a sense of safety.

Michael Winter

PE Teacher

Michael graduated from Northumbria University in the UK with a dual degree in Sports. He has 10 years of experience as a sports coach and physical education teacher. He firmly believes that physical education brings numerous benefits to children's overall development, including improving their intellectual abilities, coping with complex social situations, and developing emotional skills. Michael is dedicated to integrating sports and fitness culture at SPGSI Chengdu, encouraging individuality and a spirit of adventure, and helping children discover their passion for sports.

Chad

Chad Wursthorne

Music Teacher

Chad graduated from the University of Southern Maine in the United States with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education. He received the highest honour of being on the Dean's List and was awarded the highest-level scholarship at the university. With fourteen years of experience in music education, he previously served as the Head of the Music Department at an international school.

Dewayne

 Dewayne Bowen

Science Teacher

Dewayne holds a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Management at City University Malaysia. With 20 years of experience in primary school teaching, he strongly believes that every child can learn. He excels in inquiry-based learning methods, and  fostering students' critical and creative thinking skills. This approach enhances their abilities to ask questions, investigate, and communicate their thoughts findings.

Mina

 Mina Nelson

Art Teacher

Mina studied Art and Art History at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in the United States. She later obtained her teaching qualification from Goldsmiths, University of London and has 15 years of teaching experience. She aims to create a challenging yet enjoyable learning environment where students have the opportunity to explore different art forms, techniques, and ideas. By doing so, she nurtures students' intellectual and technical abilities, encourages them to embrace their artistic talents, and helps them create works they can be proud of.

Giordano

Giordano Trischitta

Drama Teacher

Giordano holdsa Bachelor's degree in Literature, Music, and Performing Arts from the University of Rome Branch Campus. He also holds a Master's degree in European Literature from the University of Rome La Sapienza Branch Campus and a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) in Primary Education from Kingston University in London. With seven years of educational work experience, he has taught the British National Curriculum in the UK and received training as a primary school teacher for students aged 5-11, with a focus on KS2. He excels in performing arts and literature. Additionally, he is fluent in Italian and Portuguese and has a background in stage playwriting.

Kinga holds a Master's degree in Education from the University of Exeter in the UK. She is an experienced primary school teacher who has taught in both private and public schools in the UK, as well as international schools in China. As a teacher, she is dedicated to providing holistic education to students, recognizing and developing their unique talents and strengths.
