Double Ninth Festival is coming in the season of sweet-scented osmanthus. It is not only a traditional festival, but also one of the four major festivals for ancestor worship. BLS organized a series of activities to let them explore the cultural context behind the festival.

“佳节又重阳，丹桂满庭芳。”在桂花飘香的季节，我们即将迎来重阳节，这不仅是传统佳节，也是四大祭祖节日之一。金铭钥学校以重阳节为引，组织了一系列活动，引导学生去探寻节日背后的文化脉络。

Exploring
In ancient times, peoplel always climbed mountains to pray for blessings and worship ancestors in Double Ninth Festival. It has been passed down to the present day and added connotations such as respecting the elderly. The teachers of the Chinese group showed the rich connotation of the festival in class, and the class masters also organized the class meeting with the theme of filial piety. Students were more confident and active in the knowledge contest on Friday with the knowledge accumulated in few days ago.  

古时重阳节有登高祈福、拜神祭祖等习俗。传承至今，又添加了敬老等内涵。我校语文组教师在课堂上讲述了丰富的节日文化内涵，各班主任也组织了孝道主题班会。有了前期的知识积累，在本周五知识竞赛中学生们变得更加自信而积极踊跃。各小组学生争相抢答、互不示弱，老师和学生在观众席情不自禁地发出一阵阵掌声。

重阳游园会

Garden party
The students walked into the Double Ninth garden party in threes and fives. They played lots of games, such as throwing pot, sachets, archery, baisou picture and so on. Take three arrows, get up on the platform and shoot, how many can you hit? Choose a favorite sachet and fill it with wormwood. Who do you want to give? Students not only had a good time, but also learned about the traditional customs.

学生们三五结伴，一同走进重阳游园会。投壶、香囊、射箭、百寿图等等，丰富多彩的游戏等待着学生们去玩乐。取三只矢，登上高台后投射，你能投中几只？选一个喜欢的香囊，用艾草填装，你想将它赠与何人？相信学生们在玩得畅快的同时，也亲身了解了重阳的传统习俗。

浓浓翰墨香

Calligraphy
BLS has launched a Chinese calligraphy competition, combining the art of calligraphy with traditional festivals. Students express their feelings with calligraphy as the carrier, and taste the unique charm of Chinese culture in literary works and rich ink fragrance.

本周我校开展了汉字书法大赛，将书法艺术与传统节日相结合。学生以书法为载体寄托情感，在文学作品中，在浓郁的墨香里品味中华文化的独特韵味。

We do believe that the students have realized the brilliance of Chinese culture and we hope the students can gradually shape the self-confidence and identity of national culture. Students will be deeply rooted in Chinese culture, actively promote Chinese cultural exchanges, and tell China's stories on the world stage.

相信同学们从这次活动中感悟到了中华文化的璀璨，并由此逐渐塑造民族文化自信心和认同感。希望同学们深深扎根于中华文化，做中华文化交流的积极推动者，将来在世界舞台上讲好中国故事。
