亲爱的家长与监护人：

On behalf of the entire staff at MLIS-Chongqing I want to welcome you to the 2022/2023 school year. As a school community, we are excited for the year and are especially excited to celebrate our grade 12 students who will be the inaugural graduating class of the Maple Leaf World School curriculum.

我谨代表重庆枫叶国际学校全体教职员工欢迎您与我们相聚2022-2023学年。今年，我们充满期待，信心满满。枫叶世界学校课程将喜迎首届12年级毕业生，我们也尤为激动与欣喜。

I would like to start by taking a moment to introduce myself. My name is Meghann Kenkel and I am the principal of the international program at our school. This is my third year in Chongqing and second as the international principal. I studied at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, British Columbia Canada where I completed my bachelors and education degrees. I completed my master's degree from Pennsylvania State University in 2017. Before joining the team in Chongqing, I taught in British Columbia for 9 years, and at another international school in Weifang, Shandong.

借此机会，我想为各位家长与监护人进行简单的自我介绍。我叫梅根·肯克尔，已于重庆校区工作三年，现于第二年担任高中部外方课程校长一职。我毕业于加拿大哥伦比亚省温哥华市西蒙菲沙大学，获得教育学学士学位。2017年，我于宾夕法尼亚州立大学完成研究生学位。加入重庆大家庭前，我于加拿大哥伦比亚省任教9年，并任山东省潍坊市一所国际学校外方课程校长。

I am proud of the group of international educators that I will work with and with whom you have trusted your child’s education. This year we have 15 fully certified international teachers from seven different countries. All our teachers are passionate about helping your children to reach their academic goals, and helping them to develop into responsible, hardworking young adults.  High school is difficult, and students will need to put in their best efforts to succeed, but all our staff are here to help them however we can. Students are encouraged to speak to their teachers whenever they are struggling.

我为外方教师团队感到自豪与骄傲，你们也可将孩子的教育完全地托付给他们。本学年，我们的外教团队融合了来自不同国家的15位优秀教师。他们均持有教师资格证，教学经验丰富。所有教师热忱教学，敬业服务，积极帮助孩子们达成学业目标，助力孩子们成为拥有责任感，努力好学的时代青年。尽管高中学业任务重，学习困难多，孩子们需要刻苦努力才能获得成功，但教师团队会竭尽所能地帮助同学。若孩子们遇到任何困难或问题，我们希望他们能积极跟任课老师沟通交流。

We have several supports in place to help students to succeed including our student support teachers, Mr. Linney and Mr. Miller, weekly checks of student progress, and tutorials which will run three times a week this year. We hope that students will take advantage of this support in order to meet their academic goals. Teachers are here to help, and students should not be worried or nervous to speak with them.

为助力孩子获得学业成功，我们实施了一系列帮扶措施，共同努力促进孩子们的进步。学生辅导老师Mr. Linney 和 Mr. Miller将每周跟进孩子们的学习情况，孩子们每周也可参加三次课后辅导。我们希望孩子们能利用额外的辅助资源，完成学业目标。请孩子们不必担心和紧张，老师们永远欢迎他们进行面对面的沟通与交流。
 
 
Most importantly, we hope that you will be an active part of your child’s time at Maple Leaf Chongqing. We encourage you to check PowerSchool to track your child’s progress, speak with them about their classes and experiences on campus, and reach out to the school whenever you have questions or concerns.

此外，我们还希望您积极参与到孩子在校的学习生活中。我们希望您能经常登录PowerSchool系统查询孩子的学习近况，多与孩子沟通交流，关心孩子课堂学习情况与在校生活经历，并在有问题或疑虑时，及时与校方沟通与联系。

I look forward to connecting with you all throughout the school year and working with you to ensure that your child has a positive experience throughout the 2022/2023 school year.
