Ms Shen joined YCIS Shanghai in 2008 as a Primary School Chinese Language Teacher, followed by Primary Head of Chinese Department & Professional Development Coordinator and then the ECE and Primary and Chinese Vice-Principal. During her time as an educator at YCIS she has been awarded the YCYW Master Teacher status.

Ms Shen holds a Master's degree in international Chinese Language Education and is qualified as Psychological Consultant from East China Normal University. She also obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration from the East China University of Science and Technology. She is currently taking on her Doctorate in Education. Her background in psychology has driven her to promote the importance of holistic education that focuses not only on students’ academic achievements but also on their social and emotional development. Beyond school, she is also a member of the Council of International Schools (CIS) evaluation team.

Ms Shen's professional interests include international education, curriculum development, pedagogics, teachers' professional learning, and cross-cultural leadership. Ms Shen strives to use a collaborative approach to leadership, working to build trust with colleagues, students, and parents to build a well-rounded community.
