尊老爱幼一直都是中华民族的传统美德，所以我们连心公益社团的这次实践地点选在了养老院，希望可以通过我们自己的力量让这群独居的老人们感受到温暖与关怀。

Respecting the old and caring for the young has always been a traditional virtue of the Chinese nation.Therefore, we chose a nursing home for this practice and we hope we can make the old people feel warm and caring.

为了此次活动的顺利举办，我们先在网上搜索了关于老人的日常活动及他们的需求。我们发现老人最缺的是陪伴，因为在养老院里很少有人与他们交谈。尤其在我们与老人沟通时要带着微笑，并且要大声说话来保证他们可以听清楚，让每一位老人都能感觉到有“家人”的温暖。

In order to make this activity more successful, we first searched the Internet about the daily activities of the old people and their needs. We find that what the elderly lack most is companionship, because there are few people to talk to them. Especially when we communicate with the old people, we should smile and speak loudly to make sure the old people can hear us clearly.

在这次活动中，我们先是买了一些老人群体容易消化并且有营养的食物，各种水果，牛奶等。

In this activity, we first bought some digestible and nutritious food for the elderly, such as various fruits, milk and so on.

我们观察到养老院的老人们情况都大不相同，有全身瘫痪，半残疾和健康等状况。他们有些热爱说话，有些比较沉默，但他们微笑的嘴角，闪亮亮的眼睛都表示着欢迎我们的到来，有的还亲切地拍拍床，让我们做到他们旁边。我们每个人都负责照顾一个老人，干一些我们力所能及的事，陪他们聊聊天。有些老人行动不方便，就为他们倒杯水放在床前。

We observed a wide variety of the old people in nursing home（paralyzed, semi-disabled, healthy, etc）. Some of them are more talkative, while others are more reserved. However, they all welcomed us with smiles. Especially, some old people kindly patted the bed, let us do next to them.

Each of us is responsible for taking care of an old man, played or talked with them. Some old people can not move easily, so we pour a glass of water for them.

她们拉着我们的手，与我们聊她们那歌年代的回忆，也与我们讲他们的故事。我们都带着微笑竖着耳朵听，生怕错过一点精彩的时刻。他们也同样用晶莹的眼睛回复着我们，这眼神中包含有人听他们诉说的喜悦，也有得到回应的欣喜，还有对我们的期望。

They held our hands and told us stories of their time. At that time, because of the Great Leap Forward and the People's Commune Movement, the Chinese people, who had always cooked in their own households, suddenly had a big canteen.We were all very curious about the old story, so we listened carefully. They look at us with the joy of sharing their lives, and so do we.

时间过得很快，不知不觉我们这次社团活动就结束了。凝视着老人家满是沧桑的面庞和不舍的眼神，离别不舍的情绪充满心间。甚至有一位奶奶留下了眼泪并且拉着我们的手说，别走。

Our activity time for each group is two to three hours. When we want to say goodbye to the old people, they are very sad to us. And there are a few old people crying, crying and told us not to go.

舍不得这群可爱的老人，我们还想听他们诉说他们年轻时的趣事。可我们不得不去开启我们新的征程，但我们唯一能保证的就是常来这里看看她们，为他们带来更多的阳光、快乐与温暖。

We are also reluctant to give up the old people and their stories, but "flowers bloom, they fall". The only guarantee is that we often come here to see them, to bring them more sunshine, happiness and warmth.

很感谢枫叶与连心公益提供的机会，才有了这次实践活动，它让我们更加相信星星之火，可以燎原。这次活动不仅锻炼了我们的组织策划能力，同时也让我们用自己绵薄的一份力量去温暖他人。我们要通过实际行动，传递爱的接力棒，让这种尊老爱老的精神永远传承下去。

Maple Leaf gives us new opportunities and gives us free time to participate in public welfare activities. It is a good exercise for all the members of our club, and we hope that more people can bring this care to more people in need.
